By guest columnist
HERMAN "TURK" PRUJANSKY
RECENT SUCCESS STORY: A
good-looking kid who sold news-
papers in his early Detroit years,
Moe Miller, is today active vice-
president of the fabulous Flamingo
Hotel in Las Vegas. As his- guest,
it was such pleasure seeing him
escort the ever glamorous Zaza
Gabor and her entourage to the
beautiful Candlelight Room. Even
her white Angora kitten received
the Moe Miller VIP treatment!
In her long grey fur maxi-coat,
all of a sudden we were aware
of a living legend in meeting Zaza,
who appeared along with Sandy
Baron at the Flamingo.
JACKIE COOGAN, also a liv-
ing legend, had just joined us with
his new mustache. He too was
drawing a congratulatory crowd
around him for the comedy hit
of the season, "Come Blow Your
Horn." Selma Diamond, as his
play wife, is as real on stage as
in person — a real wit!

WE WERE IN OUR way to
visit Louis Prima, and Sam Butera
and His Witnesses. We "ditched"
Don. Pickles, who had his own
show to make. Don is actually
gracious in person, as is Frank
Sinatra Jr., whose manager, my
friend Tino Berzee, used to man-
age the Dorsey Brothers.
IT WAS TO BE a "Turk" Pru-
jansky night, with Louis Prima
playing our Dot recording collab-
orations. "Nice Talking To You,
Baby" is still the most requested
tune. What a personal thrill to
hear my own A.S.C.A.P. songs re-
ceiving the plaudits of our own
growing crowd — 99.6 Detroiters
and Terry Lewis' dad Danny Lewis
and ever-young mother, Rae. Dan-
ny is a talent scout and associate
producer of the Jerry Lewis
shows. Both started show business
as song pluggers. Dahny is almost
z. carbon copy of Jerry and still
sings a better song though he is
finding his fun in the sun living
in Las Vegas . . . We were ex-
changing nostalgia and had to
admit that talking over old friend-
ships in and out of show business
was our happiest pastime.
BACK IN CALIFORNIA, little
Fifi D'Orsay sends her love to all
of the Detroit friends she met at
my club. What a gal! The same
looks, the same voice accented
with the joi de vie — that joy
of life radiating goodness . and
love. Life will always be good to
her, Right now I'm dining at Can-
ter's Restaurant on Fairfax. Harry
Karl and his wife Debbie Rey-
nolds leave their long black limou-
sine Rolls Royce in front while
they join us for lox and bagels.
Like everyone else, when I see
Debbie, I am reminded of Eddie
Fisher who still sings great but
looks a little lonely. Jesse White
and Mike Majurki find their way
to our table. They have some good
commercials on TV going for them.
As the evening grows into morn-
ing, the room becomes full of De-
troiters. We all agree it was nice
to see the ugly sixties go and hope
for serene seventies.

THOUGH I'M THANKFUL my
mother, who says she is ONLY 84,
keeps warm in the California sun,
our home and heart is still in
Detroit with our everlasting friend-
ships. We who are here, still think
Friday night is the best of the
Areek for 'Ma's' kteillSch - soup.
