ler's auto-biography.
The project has come under
heavy fire from Jewish quarters
and has been protested by the West
Germany Embassy, in behalf of
the Bavarian state government
which holds the copyright on "Mein
Kampf." The firm of Longanesi
maintained that the Italian transla-
tion was intended solely for his-
torical and scientific research pur-
poses. Longanesi also noted that
an unauthorized Italian translation
of "Mein Kampf' was issued by a
small neo-Fascist newspapers in
Monfalcone several years ago and
is still on sale.
