Science Curriculum Improvement
Study—as part of the school's edu-

In adopting SCIS, the school
worked in consultation with Dr.
Frank Youkstetter of Wayne State
University and Don Maxwell of the
University of Michigan.
A new approach to the teaching
of science in the elementary school,
the science curriculum consists of
ungraded, sequential physical and
life science units which are de-
signed to "turn the classroom into
