Emergency Campaign Begun With Increases JERUSALEM—Large increases in contributions to Israel for the 1970 Emergency Campaign were pledged at the Keren Hayesod Con- ference for Europe held in Brus- sels. it was reported by Dr. Israel Goldstein, chairman of the Keren Hayesod. Of the 240 delegates from 17 countries attending the conference, 27 from five of the leading coun- tries launched their campaigns on the spot with personal pledges ex- ceeding $707,000, thus marking an increase of 45 per cent over their contributions during the record Six- ! Day War. S. J Kreutner, director general of Keren Hayesod, who represent- ed the Keren Hayesod at the con- ference, predicted that this re- ' sponse will help the campaign ap- proach the record $150,000,000 raised in 1967 in the 54 countries where Keren Hayesod operates. The conference also heard a de- tailed report on Israel's future wel- fare needs from Dr. Joseph Ben Or, deputy director general of the ministry of social welfare and a summary of plans for the forthcom- ing Keren Hayesod 50th anniver- sary celebrations this summer from Yitzhak Rogow, head of Keren Hayesod's information department.
