World War I Veteran
WWI Veteran
Nathan Edward (Ted) Solomon,
a retired manufacturers agent for
several furniture companies, died
Jan. 26 at age 77. Mr. Solomon
was a veteran of World War I,
having served in the ambulance
corps in France.
Mr. Solomon, a native of Minne-
sota, lived in lietroit 47 years. His
residence was at 900 Whitmore.
He was a member of the Detroit
Furniture Club and Temple Beth
El.
Surviving are his wife, Edith;
two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mar-
gery) Rothschild Jr. and Mrs. Pe-
ter (Claire) Martin; and six grand-
children.
Stanley Kirschbaum, 73
Stanley Kirschbaum, chairman
of Selective Service Local Board
196 and a former member of the
famed Red Arrow. Diiision,. U.S.
Army, died Tuesday at age '13.
Mr. Kirschbaum, 385EW Hayden,
was a member of Cong. Beth Mo-
ses, Craftsnian Lodge 'or, flfe Ma-
sons and the Scottish Rite. He was
a life member of the Military Or-
der of the Purple Heart, George
Washington Post of the American
Legion, Disabled American Vet-
erans, 40 et 8, Red Arrow Club of
Detroit and the 32nd Red Arrow
Division Association.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille;
a daughter, Lois; and one brother.

Baruch, director of the
Jewish Welfare Federation Wo-
men's Division since 1953, when
she came to this city, died Jan. 23
at age 60. A memorial fund in her
name is being established with
the United Jewish Charities.
Mrs. Baruch, 265 Merton, was a
member of Cong
Shaarey Zedek,
National Associa-
tion of Social
Workers and the
Academy of Cer-
tified Social
Workers. She was
with the Joint
Distribution Com-
mittee in Ger-
many from 1945
to 1949, aiding in Mrs. Baruch
the rescue of Jews from concen-
tration camps. Mrs. Baruch was
a native of Buffalo.
Wife of the late Theodore Bar-
uch, she leaves three brothers,
Harold Weinberg of Williamsville,
N.Y., Lester Weinberg of Buffalo
and Dr. Charles Weinberg of Sny-
der, N.Y.; and a sister, Mrs. Paul
(Mary) Shapiro of Buffalo.
Morris Mohr, 82;
Communal Leader
Morris Mohr, a past president
of Cong. Beth Abraham and other
organizations in the community,
died Jan. 25 at age 82.
Mr. Mohr, an early leader of
the Jewish Community Council,
was past president of the Federa-
tion of Polish Jews and of the
Detroit Synagogue Conference. He
served on the board of Yeshivath
Beth Yehuda for 30 years and was
a 60-year member of Bnai Brith.
He was active in Merkaz, the lay
body affiliated with the Council
of Orthodox Rabbis, and also with
American Jewish Congress.
Retired owner of Cadillac Fur-
niture Co., Mr. Mohr resided at
18715 Ohio. He was born in Poland
and lived in Detroit 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca;
four sons, Arthur of Los Angeles,
Joseph of Lake Success, N.Y.,
Siebert of Ft. Thomas, Ky., and
Lawrence of Ann Arbor; a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Neil (Deborah) Dorf-
man; a brother, Jacob; two sisters,
Mrs. Clara Bienstock of Denver
and Mrs. Esther Gleicher of Los
Angeles; nine grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.

us. She had such eloquent
qualities and precious
characteristics that dis-
tinguished her like a
green thumb from anyone
else. As long as we live,
Bubby will continue to
live in a spiritual exis-
tence within all of us.
