Detroit Edison will begin ac-
cepting recipes next week for its
ninth annual Queen of the Kitchen
contest for women who work. Ac-
cording to Marion E. Ryan, head
of the company's electric living
division, contest dates this year
are Feb. 1-March 1.
From entries received, 10 women
will be chosen to take part in a
cook-off on March 19, with each
finalist receiving an electrical ap-
pliance. The grand prize is a de-
luxe range.
All finalists will be guests of the
Edison Co. at the Salute to Women
Who Work banquet at Cobo Hall
March 19.
The contest is open to any girl or
woman who is employed full-time
outside of her home and who lives
within the boundaries of Edison's
Southeastern Mic hi g a n service
area. Each is invited to submit a
recipe for a one-dish meal that can
be cooked in an hour or less. Dead-
line is March 1.
