Not Getting Enough Aid
Israeli to Ask E. Africans
From Other Arab States
to Use Land Tie to Israel
JERUSALEM (JTA)-King Hus-

NEW YORK (JTA)-An Israeli
businessman will try to persuade
East African government officials
and representatives of shipping in-
terests to use the land bridge
across Israel-from the Mediter-
ranean to the Red Sea-in order to
save up to 10 days on present
ocean freight routes around Africa.
The businessman, S. Lewinson,
general manager of the Keden
Land Bridge of Haifa, plans to
visit East Africa later this month,
according to a dispatch from Reu-
ters. His company operates trucks
daily from the Red Sea port to the
new Mediterranean port of Ashdod.

sein inspected the battered town of
Irbid in northern Jordan Sunday
and told the population that their
country was engaged in "a diffi-
cult war," according to an Am-
man radio broadcast monitored
here.
The Jordanian ruler also report-
edly said that his nation was not
receiving sufficient aid from the
other Arab states. Irbid, which is
used by Jordanian army and guer-
rilla artillerymen as a base for
shelling Israeli settlements in the
Beisan and Jordan valleys, has
been hard hit by the Israel air
force.
