(Editor's Note: This review repre-
Scuts the attitude of a group that
believes more serious efforts should
be made to press for Arab-Jewish
friendships. We present the interpre-

book by Daniel Silverfarb to provide
an expression of opinion for the

However, by abruptly moving
from the not unreasonable premise
that the Jordanian claim to the
West Bank rests on a shaky founda-

morally entitled to the territory
and should continue to administer
it, Schechtman completely ignores
the third possible alternative,
which is some form of independent

of the area. Schechtman also con-
veniently neglects to discuss all the
undesirable domestic repercussions
of a continued occupation, to say
nothing of the eventual likelihood

EN-GEV (ZINS)—An unsched-
uled artillery duel between Jorda-
nian and Israeli forces clashed
with a performance of Beethoven's
"Eroica" symphony by the Israel
Symphony Orchestra at En-Gev,
the cannon roar temporarily
drowning out the orchestra.
The disturbance, however, was
of short duration as Israel cannon
and jets joined to silence the Jor-
danian guns.
During this exchange of fire,
none of the audience left their
seats and the strains of Beet-
hoven's "Eroica" continued once
again, without hfferruption, to the
conclusion of the performance.
