Katsh, president of the post-grad- uate university. Joining the faculty will be visit- ing professors Dr. Ellis Rivkin, of Baltimore, and Dr. Bertram W. Korn of Philadelphia. Dr. Rivkin, who began his pro- fessional career as a Cyrus Adler post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Dropsie in 1946, will conduct two classes in "The Jews in the Era of Transition 13th-17th Century" and "Structures and Process in Jewish History." Dr. Korn, who is senior rabbi at Reform -Congrega- tion Keneseth Israel, will conduct a "Seminar in American Jewish History." The 60-year-old Dropsie Univer- sity is the only nontheological, nonectarian institution of its kind in the United States completely dedicated to the study of Hebrew, Biblical and Middle Eastern cul- tures and languages, and higher Jewish education. Dr. Rivkin, whose latest book. "The Hidden Revolution: An An- alysis of Pharisaism as an His- torical Phenomenon" is in prepa- ration, was the Adolph S. Ochs Professor of Jewish History at the Hebrew Union College and a visit- ing professor in religion and philosophy at Antioch College. He is a fellow of the American Asso- ciation for the Advancement of Science, a member of the publica- tion committee of the Jewish Publication Society, American Historical Society, Historical So- ciety of Israel and the Medieval Academy of America among many other professional associations. Dr. Korn, who is also a visiting professor at the Hebrew Union College and a noted authority on the antebellum period of American Jewish history, is a past president of the Americfin Jewish Historical Society, a member of the board of the Society of Jewish Bibliophiles and the Federal Civil War Cen- tennial Commissior among many other affiliations. He is the author and editor of 12 books primarily in American Jewish history, including "The Early Jews of New Orleans" just published by the American Jewish Historical Society and "The Middle Period of American Jewish History" to be published in Hebrew by the Hebrew University in Jeru- salem, Israel.
