NCJW'S Mrs. Weiner Meets With Finch Refugee Kibutz Experiment THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS TEL AVIV (JTA) - Israel has begun an experiment in the re- habilitation of Arab refugees by settling them in a cooperative farm along the lines of Israel's kibutz movement. Thirteen refugee families living on the West Bank agreed to participate. Bnai David, will feature gourmet cook and author Libby Hillman of New York in a cooking demonstratin, "Company Dinner for Four or Forty." Mrs. Hillman is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, but 17 years ago her reputation as a cook brought her to the attention of the Great Neck Public School System which in- vited her to teach an adult course in "Adventures in Cookery." In 1963 Mrs. Hillman she wrote "Les- sons in Gourmet Cooking," and in 1968 "The Menu Cookbook for Joan Stolorow Married in Candlelight Ceremony Entertaining" (Hearthside Press). She also has been associated for the past four years with Macy's Department Store Community Room in New York City, where she originated "The Libby Hillman Hostess Calender and Party Rec- ord." At the eye bank event, large closed circuit TV monitors will be used to insure better viewing. Cake and coffee will be served prior to the meeting, and a short filmed greeting by Israel Prime Minister Golda Meir will be shown. Admissiion to this event will be one filled eye bank or a compar- able contribution w h i c h will be used to support research and treatment of eye disease in Israel. One eye bank will cure one eye of blindess; two eye banks will cure both eyes of blindess caused by trachoma, so prevalent in the Middle East.
