French Chief Rabbi Meets
President Pompidou

PARIS (ZINS)—Reporting on his
personal meeting with the French
president, Chief Rabbi Kaplan de-
clared that "my audience with
President Pompidou was held in
a cordial and warm atmosphere."
He had come to ask French inter-
vention to combat anti-Semitism in
Arab countries, and in other states
as well, where the French have
influence. Rabbi Kaplan empha-
sized that in the past France had
exerted some influence in Arab
lands where the plight of Jews is
very grave. He expressed his be-
lief that the present government
will do the same. He would not
say whether other matters were
discussed, only that the audience
was most important.

Even in science we can never
really know. We must always do.
—Goethe.

You may have attended concerts devoted to various ethnic

cultural groups, such as Japanese Kabuki Theater, Russian
Folk singing and dancing groups, Indian folklore, African
Tribal groups, and last but not least, various groups of
Americana.

Wouldn't you like to have the singular emotional experi-
ence of an evening devoted to the distinctly Jewish music
of the Chassidim? The Chassidic contribution in song and
dance has kept the Jewish spirit alive through the darkest
times in our history. This is your opportunity to listen to a
unique group of Chassidic singers, dancers and musicians.

Sincerely you ors,
