EMU Madrigal Singers to Perform at OP Library

`Ukraine Today' Coming
to Masonic Temple

The Best of Everything

By Danny Raskin

Gerald E. Sage, film producer
from Calgary, Alta., will bring his
travel film "Ukraine Today" to the
Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite
Cathedral, 3 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
It was filmed by Sage in October
1968 and concentrates on Kiev,
Lvov, Odessa, the Carpathian
Mountains and the surrounding
areas. After trying for four years,
he finally got permission from the
USSR and produced this nonpoli-
tical documentary.

The Eastern Michigan Univer-
sity Madrigal Singers will perform
at the Oak Park Library 9 p.m.
Wednesday in the second of a
series of musical evenings pre-
sented. by the Friends of the Oak
Park Library. There will be no
admission charge.
The madrigal, vocal chamber •

accompanying the singers, orig-
inated at about the 16th Century,

and generally deals with pastoral
or sentimental themes.
For the concert, the group will
sing Spanish, French, Italian, Eng-
lish and German madrigals, as
well as modern songs by Debussy
and Rorem.
The singers have been invited to
appear in concert next June in
England, and are trying to raise
funds for this trip.
For information, call the Oak
Park Library, LI 8-7230.
