Israeli potash-producing concern. recently concluded a third expansion stage which will bring annual production up to 1.000.000.- 000 tons of potash yearly. The in- vestment in the new expansion was about S17.000.000, provided by the Israeli government. It is expected that with the in- creased production. the cost per ton of potash will drop and profit margins rise substantially. In the 1968-69 fiscal year. the plant. exported potash to a value of 514.000.500. Exports are expect- ed to climb to S25.000.000 in the 1970 71 fiscal year.
