Relieve Pain In Most Cases.

Science has found a medicatioh

to relieve pain, itching and shrink
hemorrhoids. In case after case
doctors proved, while gently re-

Adult Education Groups
to Gather in Washington

WASHINGTON—Top leaders in
all phases of education have been
invited to address a Galaxy Con-
ference on Adult Education, which
is expected to attract about 4,000
leaders representing 24 national
organizations.
It will mark the first time in the
history of education that all of the
major associations with a concern
for adult education will meet
jointly to consider their common
problems and to chart new direc-
tions to meet the demands of a _
rapidly changing social order.
The National Council on Adult
Jewish Education, a participant in
and co-sponsor of the conference,
will hold its own meetings Dec. 7.

THE

The Ketuba

The Ketuba is the name given
to the contract signed by wit-
nesses attesting to the fact that
the husband assumed certain obli-
gations towards his wife for which
his estate may be used in pay-
ment. The basic idea was to pro-
vide the wife with some means of
security in case the marriage was
dissolved either by the death of
the husband or by divorce. This
was a mandatory requirement set
down by Jewish law. It is usually
read aloud between the two parts
of the marriage ceremony under-
neath the canopy. The word,
"Ketuba," simply means "writ-
ten," the inference being that the
obligation was as binding as a
written contract.
