COMIC BEN BLUE'S biggest
regret is that Damon Runyon
never met "Turk" Prujan . . .
The living legend, as Ben refers
to him, is former Detroiter Her-
man "Turk" Prujansky with whom
we visited while recently in Cali-
fornia . . He's "Mr. Personality"
all over the country and like a
pied piper of show business, he
has followers everywhere by the
untold droves . . . At one time,
"Mr. L.A.", Los Angeles Examiner
columnist Bill Kennedy remarked,
"Turk Prujan is opening up
another nitery and it better be
bigger than the colloseum to seat
all his friends!" . . Whenever
he comes back to the hometown,
"Turk," whose first cousins were
the late Abe and Ann Srere, has
such a following that his taking
over a nitery here has alwayS been
a big thing for folks ... But Turk's
talents go far beyond running

orchestra as the then prime min-
ister David Ben Gurion's tribute

. . He is now writing a song in
dedication to Abe and Ann Srere
because of the great philanthropic
feeling they had for Israel . . .
Turk has directed albums narrated
by George Jessel. "The Legend
of Eddie Cantor" and "This Is
My Show Business." . . . He now
has the life story rights to Jack
Benny, Milton Berle. Amos and
Andy and Mario Lanza . . . Both
CBS and NBC have given Turk
carte blanche to use any stored
