Hammerschmidt, (R.-Ark.), each
$1.000.
Also Reps. Albert Johnson, (R.-
Pa.); Dan Kuykendall, (R.-Tenn.);
Earl Landgrebe, (R.-Ind.); Robert
Price, (R.-Tex.); John Saylor, (-R.-
Pa.); Henry Schadeberg, (R.-
Wis.); William Scott, (R.-Va.);
H. Allen Smith, (R.-Calif.); Gene
Snyder, (R-Ky.); Sam Steiger, (R.-
Ariz.); Albert Watson, (R.-S.C.);
J. Irving Whalley, (R.-Pa.); Roger
Zion, (R.-Ind.), and Sen. Henry
Bellmon, (R.-Okla), each $1,000.
The magazine stated that Liberty
Lobby founder, the real insiders
in Willis Carto's apparatus, belong
to "an explicitly Nazi group called
the Francis Parker Yockey Move-
ment" named for an American
follower of Hitler who committed
suicide in 1960. "The movement
amounts to an underground which
controls the other (Liberty Lobby-
run) fronts and whose members
flaunt swastikas, sing Nazi songs
and quote Nazi slogans. ,Carto's
private records, filched from his
files by a researcher, list eight
senators and representatives as
members of this neo-Nazi cult,"
True said.

True said Liberty Lobby now
controls the former Youth for
Wallace organization, renamed
the National Youth Alliance; the
American Mercury magazine, ;
"now a Carto propaganda or-
gan;" the Noontide Press, of
Sausalito, Calif.; two newslet-
ters, "Washington O b s e r v e r"
and "Liberty Lowdown" and the
First Bible Baptist Church of
Rockville, Md.

Carlo was so far right that he
was removed from the John Birch
Society, personally, by director
Robert Welch when the latter
found out about Carto's anti-Semi-
tic activities.
"The late George Lincoln Rock-
well, founder of the. American Nazi
Party, was a mere charlatan
whose collection of misfits and
mental defectives seldom number-
ed more than 20. The, total mem-
bership of Carto's various organ-
izations has been estimated as
high as 250.000, and include pros-
perous business and professional
men" most of whom "believe they
are supporting conservative or
right-wing causes. - writes authors
Trento and Spear:
Last year, they say. Carlo dis-
tributed some 590,000 to congres-
sional candidates. "lie also fur-
nished research and speeches for
a dozen members of congress, in-
cluding almost all of the South
Carolina delegation."
