Volunteer Effort
Set for Oct. 19

Many volunteers will gather an

Israel Bond High Holy Day

at 10 a.m. in the Israel Bond Of-

light breakfast, and then will start
their drive to convert High Holy
Day pledges into cash for Israel.
Mrs. Pearl Nosan is Action Day
chairman. Mrs. Morris L. Schaver
is women's division chairman and
Robert Brody is the general chair-
man.
A total of 51.642,850 was sub-
scribed in the Iligh Holy Day ap- •
peal here. More Israel Bond volun-
teers are needed to collect this
sum, Mrs. Nosan said in her ap-
peal for volunteers to join in this
effort for Israel.

Farband to Honor
Joyrich on 70th Year

ing of Farband Branch 114, 8:30
p.m. Saturday at the Sholem Alei-
chem Institute.
Abe Freedman, chairman of
Branch 114, announces that Jos-
hua Joyrich will be honored at
the meeting on the occasion of
his 70th birthday.
Joyrich, an active member of
Farband for many years, is a rep-
resentative of the branch to the
Jewish Community Council and ,
secretary and cultural chairman of ,
the Chaim Vieizmann Society. He
came to Detroit from Europe as a
young man and for 50 years has ■
been active in Jewish cultural acti-
vities. He was graduated recently
from Midrasha.
All members of Farband and
friends of the honoree are invited.
Refreshments will be served. Ad-
mission is free.
