Oct. 23 is the date set for the
opening session of the adult edu-
cation class of Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue. Rabbi Philip Frankel
will discuss "Behind the Scenes of
Jewish Holidays," a study in depth
of all important holidays in the
Jewish calendar.

BERN, Switzerland (JTA) —
Switzerland has expelled the Is-
raeli military attache Col. Zvi Alon

in connection with the alleged
theft of plans for the Mirage III-
S jet engines manufactured by the
Sulzer plant in Winterthur under
license from the French firm of
Marcel Dassault. The expulsion
order linked Col. Alon and his pre-

tron-80 is City of Hope's second
cobalt unit for radiation treat-
ment. With 1,300,000 electron
volts of energy, the unit features
remote control panel, motorized
treatment head and other new
design elements for maximum
efficiency and patient comfort.

Attorney
General Hans Walder, Frauen-
to receiving
knecht confessed
$200,000 from Israel for the blue-
prints, models and tooling instruc-
tions. They were packed in 20
crats which Frauenknecht alleg-
edly smuggled across the Rhine by
barge to Israeli agents in West
Germany.
Walder made his charges pub-
lic Sept. 26. Israeli officials in
Jerusalem said at the time that
they had no knowledge of Frauen-
knecht and refused further com-
ment.
The Mirage III - S is said to be
an improved version of the Mirage
IV supersonic jet, backbone of Is-
rael's combat airforce. Fifty Mir-
age V jets which Israel bought
and paid for have not been deliv-
ered by France owing to the arms
embargo imposed by former Pres-
ident Charles de Gaulle two years
ago.

The sisterhood of Shaarey Zedek
will hold its annual buffet dinner
Nov. 9 at the synagogue. Open to

The annual United Jewish Ap-
peal dinner Oct. 19 will be preceded
by a champagne cocktail party
hosted by the Greater Lansing
UJA hoard of directors. Dr. David
Kahn. president of the Lansing
UJA, announces that commentator
David Schoenbrun and the former
Miss Israel, Rina Kishon, will be
introduced to the community at
this cocktail party. Schoenbrun
will be the evening's speaker.
