India Parliament Member Vows to Block THE
Establishment of El Fatah Office in Country !Housing in Israel for U.S. Emigres

DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

NEW DELHI *(.1TA)—An Indian
member
ember of parliament said lant
weekend that he would do every-
every-
thing ' his power to prevent the
Indian government from permit-
ting El Fatah, the Palestinian
guerilla organization, from opening
a recruiting and propaganda office
in India.
Balraj Makok, executive chair-
man of the Forum of International
Affairs, told newsmen that he was
deeply disturbed by reports that
permission would be granted to a
three-member El Fatah mission
that has been touring India. Ile
said he would not rest until such
permission was rescinded.
Makok described El Fatah as
a commando organization whose
main aim was to infiltrate Israel
for acts of sabotage and subver-
sion, and said it was patently
wrong to give any quarter to dele-
gates from such an organization.
He demanded that the El Fatah
visitors be ousted from India im-
mediately.

The Indian government's pro-
Arab policy in the Middle East
conflict is being challenged by
Makok's militant Hindu party,
Jana Sangh, which Moslems in
India liken to Hitler's Brown-
shirts, Christian Science Moni-
tor correspondent Ernest Weath-
erall reported from New Delhi.

"The reason the El Fatah com-
mandos have been given official
government of India approval is
because New Delhi has been back-
ing the Arabs in their confronta-
tion with Israe 1." Weatherall
wrote. "But the government's de-
cision to cast its lot with that of
the Soviet Union by supporting the
Arabs in the June 1967 war has
not been a popular move, espe-

daily with Hindu chauvinistic po-
litical parties such as the Jana
Sangh. Many feel that India should
have maintained the nonaligned
policy of Pandit Nehru and re-
mained aloof from taking sides."

Weatherall said that India's pro-
Arab stand has lost it many liberal
friends in Washington such as
Sen. Jacob K. Javits (Republican)
and Rep. Emanuel Cenci• (Demo-
crat) of New York. According to
Weatherall, the Jana Sangh Party
is blamed by some' for the anti-
Moslem riots which have report-
edly taken more than a thousand
lives in provincial cities.
The MP also denounced India's
attempted participation in t he
Moslem summit conference at
Rabat; Morocco. He said by no
stretch of the imagination could
India be described as an Islamic
state and had no business attend-
ing such a conference. The In- '

pledged to annihiliate Israel.
The •MPs also charged that the
