Bnai Brith Services Appeal Campaign'
to Be Launched With Three Events

The 1969 Bnai • Brith Services
Appeal annual campaign for funds
in support of the Bnai Brith youth-
serving agencies and philanthro-
pies will get under way with two
special gift functions and a coin-
munitywide kick-off meeting, it
was announced by Services Appeal
co-chairmen Paul Perry and Mrs.
Robert Ellis.
In recognition of Bnai Brith's
126th anniversary, a special gifts
dinner will be held 6:30 p.m.

Blood Bank Rallies

that Louis Berry, Detroit philan-
thropist and civic leader, has been
selected as honorary chairman of
the special gifts division of the
campaign. Serving with Berry are

or crippled. They were delegates
to the international convention of
Bnai Brith Girls held at Camp
Bnai Brith. The goal of the ex-
periment was to heighten the sensi-
tivity of the volunteers to the prob-
lems of the disabled, many of
whom receive help through the
organization's programs for the
handi•aped. -
In the experiment, the girls
tried to carry on-normal activities
during the period of simulated
handicaps. Sightlessness was tem-
porarily produced by blindfolds.
Muteness was created by mouth
tapes, deafness with ear-plugs and
other handicaps with leg-splints.

The volunteers struggled through
such normal functions as dressing,
eating, walking and participation
ir? games. The experiment ended
with group discussions in which
the girls described their experi-
ences and reactions.

Jerusalem.
