Brandwine a n d with the cooper- ation of the Vaad Mrs. Brandwine Harabonim. the spirit of the High Holy Days will be brought by the sisterhood women to the Jewish residents of the following homes: Allan Dee Convalescent Center. J un,- Ccicmonv Plannc,1 Barbara Bcrcsh by Arnold Home, Redford Villa Nurs- ing Home, Bloomfield Hills Nurs- ing Center, David Nursing Home, Edgewater Convalescent Center, Heritage of Beverly Hills. Ingel- side, Northland Geriatric Center, Sherwood Hall, Southfield Nursing Home and Villa Zion Nursing Home. Rabbi Joshua Sperka• Vaad Har- abonim chaplain, will accompany the teams of women and blow the shofar and conduct a brief service for all residents. Traditional refreshments will be provided by the sisterhoods. and a colorful Hebrew art cal- endar will be left behind as a gift for each resident. This Rosh Hashana program is a part of the year-round service to Jewish nursing home residents which is provided by volunteers under the supervision of JFCS. Prepare the dough: melt the mar- garine and combine with the flour and salt. Add water and knead lightly. Let it rest in refrigerator until you prepare the filling. 2. Prepare the filling: peel the apples and grate them on a coarse grater. Add all the other ingredients and mix well. 3. Divide the dough into two. Roll out two rectangles of about 10x15 inches. 4. Put half of filling on each, cover- ing about one-third of the dough —lengthwise. Roll up, lengthwise. like a jelly roll. Fold the edges under themselves so the filling will not come out.
