non-Arab Moslem countries took a
very different attitude from that
which I have described as emanat-

I should not exclude the kingdom
of Saudi Arabia whose chief thinks
that the answer is what he calls
"Holy War." But the non-Arab
Moslem states took an attitude
based upon genuine anguish at the
damage, and they promised to do
everything possible for restora-
tion. I refer especially to the an-
nouncement by His Imperial Maj-

esty the Shah of Iran and by the
president of Turkey. These state-
ments had nothing except the sor-
row at the loss and the pledge of
those governments to do every-
thing possible within the frame-
work of their Moslem solidarity
and their international conscience
to bring about repair. We hope that

Israel Using Russ-Built
Troop Carriers Taken
in the Six-Day War
TEL AVIV (JTA) — An Israeli
army periodical disclosed Wednes-
day that Israel is using Russian-
built troop carriers captured in
the Six-Day War.
According to the weekly Bama-
haneh, the arrny has adapted two
types of Russian carriers — the
BTR-150 which is capable of trans-
porting a squad of fully armed
men over difficult terrain, and the
smaller BTR-50.
The well-contoured armor-plat-
ing of the carriers offers pro-
tection against everything except
artillery and recoilless guns, the
publication said.
Bamahaneh also disclosed that
Israeli sharpshooters have been re-
plying to Egyptian snipers who fire
almost daily across the Suez Canal
and are responsible for a large
portion of Israeli casualties in the
Canal Zone. The Israeli marksmen
have already scored a number of
hits on Egyptian snipers, Bama-
haneh said.
An Israeli civilian vehicle was
rued on Tuesday night on the main
Sinai road near El Arish. There
were no casualties, a military
spokesmen reported. An Israeli pa-
trol was attacked with bazooka
shells near Kfar Ruppin in the
Beisan Valley Wednesday morn-
ing.
