IMAGINE AN OFFICE where all
the cigarette lighters work? . .
That's Shirley Cash Realty's new
place in Southfield (the one in Oak
Park will remain open) . . The
new offices on Southfield, south of
12 Mile Rd. are beauties . . and
attendees at the opening cocktail
party last week pictured them-
selves more in an interior decora-
tor's studio than a real estate of-
fice. . . Folks galore came in,
sank in the heavy pile carpeting.
came back up and ate. drank and
made with the social gab. . . . The
soft sofas and lounge chairs make
it mighty conducive for much re-
laxation . . buying and selling
homes is Shirley's business. but

Visiting relatives in Pontiac and
sitting under a tree relaxing, she
heard a little boy calling to her
16-year-old son Steve, who took off
running. ... Dorothy followed to a
private pool where she saw a little
girl anchored under the water and
apparently drowned. . . . Another
girl who had come running dove
in and pulled the girl out . .
Dorothy pumped her heart and

BUSINESSMEN'S LUNCH SPECIAL

THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

STARTING YOUNG IN the busi-
ness world is Cheryl Lynn Fried-
man, 10-year-old daughter of Shir-
ley and Mel Friedman. . . . She
has her own nursery school, taking
care of children. from 2 to 7 years
at the home of her sister and
brother-in-law. Shelley and David
Surowitz. . . Nursery school is
held a couple times a week in the
back yard. . . . The youngsters
bring their lunch and Cheryl serves
' drinks and plays games with them-
. . Her price? . . . A whopping
25 cents . . no extra charge for
I changing diapers.

ATTENTION. OFFICERS . . .
don't be fooled by Barbara Hecht-
: man's driver's license which she
received two years ago. . .. Even
!though it has M for male, her
husband, attorney Michael Hecht-
man, and their three children will

attest that she is an honest-to-good-
ness true blue female!

DETROIT LODGE No. 55,
Knights of Pythias Castle Hall is
no more . . . it's now the Pales-
tinian Missionary Baptist Church.
. . - An altar and choir section
have been built inside, but the

lodge members are still meeting
Tuesday nights until a new site is
found . .. which shouldn't be toe
long now. . . . Seems a shame
that members of so wonderful an
organization as K of P No. 55,
whose charitable, civic and benev-
olent workings are of such promi-
nence, have to be "bribed" into
coming to meetings by being as-
sured of a new place to meet.
... The organization has too great
a purpose for small-time thinking!
