Jewish War Veterans Commander of Michigan Howard Waterstone
and Department Auxiliary President Dorothy Goldberg will lead the
Michigan delegation to the national convention of the Jewish War Vet-
erans in Los Angeles Aug. 17-24. Among those traveling to the conven-
tion from this area are Past National Commander and Mrs. Harry T.
Madison, Past National President Sarah Nemon; past Michigan depart-
ment commanders John Nemon, Judge and Mrs. Lawrence Gubow and
Dr. Leonard Schreiber; National Inspector Morris Kikoler, National
Historian Shirlee Iden, Bale Post delegates Murray Weiss and Joe Bale,
Rafelson Post. Jack Iden, and Jones Post, Dr. Morris Brown.

Out-of-town guests here for the recent Bar Mitzva of Darryl Miller
included his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bornstein, Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Bornstein and children, Mrs. Fannie Cohen and Miss
Gert Leslie, all of Windsor. From Hamilton, Ont.. were Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Bornstein, Mr.-and Mrs. Bernard Cohen, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Bogart and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bornstein and children. Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Miller of Cleveland and Mrs. Max Winer of Mobile,

Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Bauman of Shelley Ave.. Southfield, re-
cently returned from Los Angeles where they visited with their cousin,
Mrs. Faye Fauman. a former Detroiter now living in Beverly Hills.
There, they attended the wedding of their niece, Hildreth Ann Bauman,
to Harly David.Licht of San Francisco. The bride is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. Morton A. Bauman of Tarzana, Calif. Dr. Bauman, a
former Detroiter, is spiritual leader of Temple Beth Hillel in North
Hollywood where he officiated at the marriage cermony of his daugh-
ter.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kaplan of Pearson Ave., Oak Park, have re-
cently returned from a trip to Russia on the occasion of their 25th
wedding anniversary. The couple visited with Mrs. Kaplan's sisters,
whom she had not seen in 35 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Platt and family of Karen Ave., Oak Park,
were recently the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Shragai Plotnitzky of Ramat
Ilasharon, Israel. The Plaits' daughter Phyllis has remained in Israel
to attend the Amana School in Kfar Sava this coming year. While
abroad, the family attended the Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall of
their nephew and cousin, Joel David Molodofeky.
