JERUSALEM—The Hebrew Uni-
versity's Solomon Bublick Prize,
awarded since 1949 to individuals
who have made the most signifi-
cant contribution to the progress
and development of Israel, has
been awarded to Hadassah, the
Women's Zionist Organization of
America.
In ceremonies at the rebuilt
amphitheater on Mount Scopus,
attended by President Zalman
Shazar, Prime Minister Golda
Meir, and other leading Israelis.
Mrs. Max Schenk, national presi-
dent of Hadassah, accepted the
honor from Avraham Harman,
president of Hebrew University.
This is the first time, it was
noted, that the Bublick Prize has
been awarded to an organization
rather than an individual.
The citation to Hadassah, read
by Harman, extolled Hadassah's
contribution to the people of Israel
for more than half a century.
