A series of five festival stamps to be issued by the Israel Postal
Ministry in August depicts scenes from "The Flood" with quotes
from the Bible appearing below. Taken from the Book of Genesis,
the words relate the story of Noah: "Make yourself an ark of gopher
wood", "They went into the ark with Noah, two and two", "And
the ark floated on the face of the waters", "Then he sent forth a
dove", "And the bow is seen in the clouds."

ORT Credited as Important Supplier
of Industrial Technicians in Israel

JERUSALEM—In factories
throughout the length and breadth
of Israel, there is evidence that
ORT is a leading supplier of indus-
trial technicians.
A case in point is Netanya's Bliss
factory, which manufactures power
presses and other precision ma-
chinery. In a work force of 180, 30
are ORT graduates—and the man-
agement looks forward to a steady
increase in this number every year.
Most of these ORT gradautes
studied at ORT-Netanya, a few at
other ORT schools in Israel, some
at ORT schools in North Africa and
at least one at ORT-Bucharest.
Bliss-Israel is associated with a
large American industrrial engi-
neering firm, the E. W. Bliss Co.,
operating in the United States,
Canada, Australia, England and
France. Set up in 1964, the plant
manufactures mainly for export.
Business has increased 11 times
within the last two years, with
most of the exports going to the
United States, Mexico, Canada,
New Zealand, England, Hungary
and Romania.

Bliss-Israel has succeeded, ac-
cording to Chester W. Norris,
commercial attache of the U.S.
Embassy in Tel Aviv, in turning
out products equal in quality to
similar products made anywhere
in the world, at the lowest cost.
He attributes this achievement
partially to the right kind of
management and a "reservoir of
good ideas and inventiveness."

the ORTmen in the factory have
contributed "m ore than their
share" of good ideas and inventive-
ness. They have also contributed
day-to-day performances marked
by a high degree of precision, a top
factor in Bliss-Israel's manufactur-
ing program.
"They come to us," says Kar-
man, "with the kind of know-how
that enables them to handle ma-
chines as if by second nature."

Union leaders said that an NPD
meeting scheduled at Congress Hall
in Dusseldorf would be a danger
to life and limb. The West German
police union praised Frankfurt citi-
zens for opposing the "fascist"
NPD which the union compared to
the Brown Shirts of the Nazi era.
In related developments, Chan-
cellor Kurt Kiesinger and Kai Uwe
von Hassel, president of the Bunde-
stag, the lower house of parliament,
came under criticism for declaring
publicly they did not consider the
NPD a neo-Nazi party.
The chancellor was quoted to that
effect in a West German news-
paper, although he added that some
of its leaders were former Nazis.
The chancellor also reportedly said
that the only worrisome aspect of a
possible substantial NPD gain of
seats in the Bundestag in the forth-
coming Sept. 28 general elections
would be its effect on public opinion
abroad.
A government official denied that
the chancellor had made the state-
ments, but the interview has been
widely quoted by the West German
press and radio.

You may not race or rally or even own a sports car, but whatever and
however you drive, you can do it better on the same kind of DUNLOP
quality that has led the way in so many important automotive competi-
tions through the years.

You can expect this from the world-wide company that invented the Pneu-
matic tire in 1888 and patented the radial tire in 1914.
