Hostess at the luncheon was Mrs. David Tann, mother of the late Donald Tann, for whom the alumni group has named its scholarship award. Young Tann, a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity who was graduated at Ann Arbor in 1956. was killed while serving in the U.S. Air Force. His parents chose to honor his memory by establishing a fund for scholar- ships, and in the 10 years since, the alumni group has awarded 53 such grants, in varying amounts. Fred Hopfeld, 79, of Oxley Rd., dug up the animated children's film in his basement after watching the astronauts on the moon and recalling "like a dream" the details of the film he had purchased for his young daughter. Among the similarities between the film fantasy and the recent moonshot were the appearance of the moon's surface, covered with volcanic rock, the likeness of the Saturn rocket to the film rocket and the return of the craft, upside down. Hopfeld had not watched the film for 35 years until he found it after the moon walk. WILL BE WHEN PHOTOGRAPHED BY BERNARD H. UN 3-8982 UN 3-5730! * **,.
