Plans are being drawn up for the reconstruction of the original Jordanian emplacements and the establishment of a museum devoted to the liberation of Jerusalem. He was a liberal and was regarded as a brilliant interpreter of the Con- stitution. He died at the age of 68 in 1938. Mr. Lebowsky, 85, whose active participation in Owosso civic af- fairs earned him the title of Mayor of West Owosso, is a member of the temple in Hollywood, Fla., where they make their home from November to May. In the spring, the couple re- turns to Owosso, where Mr. Lebowsky, who has retired from his tailoring and cleaning busi- ness, owns a 480-acre cattle and dairy farm near the city. Russian-born Mr. Lebowsky ar- rived in America 64 years ago, set up a business in Owosso, and, then, in 1909, sent for his child- hood sweetheart. They were mar- ried on July 27 of that year by Rabbi Judah L. Levin (father of Prof. Samuel Levin) in the home of the late Simon Shetzer. The Lebowskys' life together has been spent chiefly in Owosso since that time. Elected nine times as super- visor of his west side district in Owosso. Mr. Lebowsky was once the only Republican voted into office in a Democratic landslide. Forty years ago he built the first large theater in Owosso for the W. S. Butterfield Theaters of Michi- gan. He is a member of the Elks and Masons, for which he actively participated in the building of the Owosso Masonic Temple. He served on the board for 12 years. Worshipful master of Owosso Lodge of the Masons, he also served as high priest of Owosso Chapter and three times was illustrious master of Common Counsel R&SM. In addition, he is a member of the Consistory, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Rotary Club. • While there is no Jewish com- munity in Owosso, the Lebokskys make up for that lack by their participation in Hollywood Jewish affairs. Mrs. Lebowsky is a mem- ber of Hadassah, Eastern Star and Women's City Club. Treat the other man's faith gently; it is all he has to believe with.
