States and Canada.

NICHOLAS M. LAZAR, a faculty
member of Wayne State Univer-
sity's college of engineering, died
July 16 at Ford Hospital. He was
64 years old.
Mr. Lazar of 14940 Piedmont.
was a consultant to many Detroit
industries and Argonne National
Laboratories. He had a proves-
sional industrial metallurigical
practice for thirteen years and
taught for four years at the Uni-
versity of Detroit.
A registered engineering profes-
sor in Michigan and Nebraska. Mr.
Lazar was a member of the Amer-
ican Foundrymen Society. the
American Society of Engineering
Education. the Engineering Society
of Detroit. and the American So-
ciety of Metal where he served
as technical director of the Detroit
section and on several committees.
Mr. Lazar was recipient of the
"Distinguished Engineer Award"
in 1968 given by Tau Beta Phi
Honorary Engineering Society. He
also represented the College of
Engineering on the Wayne Faculty
Council.
Born in Hungary, Mr. Lazar
came to this country 44 years ago.
He was responsible for founding
the Judaica library at Ada.
Shalom Synagogue and served on
the board of directors there.
Surviving are his wire, Edna: 3
son. Richard; two daughters, Mrs
Robert (Janis Colton of Newton.
Mass. and Mrs. Philip (Joyce)
Maisel; a brother. Adrian; a sister.-
Mrs. Izak (Vali) Spokoyny of Oak
Park and six grandchildren.

at the age of 57.
A native of Ypsilanti, Mr. Lan-
sky resided in the Ann Arbor area
for more than 50 years. He was a

Ann Arbor.
Mr. Lansky was a member of
Cong. Beth Israel in Ann Arbor.
