Record Set by Teen-Age Groups Joining Histadrut Israel Summer Kibutz Projects 49 Investment Proj ects Since 1968 Disclosed at Israel Economic Parley JERUSALEM (JTA)—The heads of the various regional committees established by the late Premier Levi Eshkol's World Economic Conference here last year reported Tuesday on progress made to date. Their reports were a prelude to the Second World Economic Con- ference whi•Ji opened Wednesday under the sponsorship of Premier Golda Meir. The Knesset Tuesday passed the first of several new laws providing incentives for foreign investors. Victor Carter of California, chair- man of the U.S regional commit- tee, disclosed that 49 projects rep- resenting a $56,000,000 investment by American firms have been ap- proved since last year's confer- ence. He said the projects have brought American businessmen into "living contact" with Israel's economy and opened a "new and historic partnership." Frzncois Pereire, chairman of the European regional commit- tee, said 40 investment ventures had been finalized so far within the preview of his group and 20 were in various stages of com- pletion. The Knesset passed Tuesday the Israel Corporation Law, which provides for the establishment of a $1,000,000 holding and investment company that will be granted spe- cial tax concessions.
