W. McNichols just west of Wood-
ward, goes along as a prime De-
troit night spot for good food, good
service and good entertainment at
reasonable prices . . . Few spots
can boast of this enviable combina-
tion.
FOR SOME TERRIFIC enter-
tainment, you won't want to miss
the Nick Lawrence Trio, featuring
French songstress Lucienne . . .
They do everything from ballads,
pops, standards, Latin-American.
French, etc. . . . both for dancing
and a lot of real good entetainment
that includes some surprise come-
dy antics . . Nick on the drums
and Joe Shawl on piano and organ
have been together a long time
and Detroiters who know them are
regular followers . . . Lucienne is
a real pro . . . handles the mike
with much authority . and works
.hard at crowd pleasing . . . Her
repertoire isn't restricted to
French and she can belt out a song
with the best of them ... Lucienne
is no stranger in the entertainment
world . . . and a big plus with her

jo's-they really know their show
business!
BACK IN SEPTEMBER '67.
sports car racer Gary Rossman had
an idea . . . and sent a letter to
Larry LoPatin, president of Michi-
gan International Speedway re-
garding a proposed motel and res-
taurant located at the Speedway
.. It was this contact that result-
ed in the forming of Detroit's and
perhaps the country's most unique
night club . . . Larry, Garry.
George Ko•amoto. vice president
and treasurer of the speedway, and
Ed Gluklick have formed the new
Steering Wheel nitery on W. Grand
Blvd., site of the former Act IV
. There are steering wheels used
by some of the world's most famous
drivers on display, plus hubcaps
and a most interesting car bar
around which four tiny autos race
continuously . . . Displayed in the
middle of the course, which was
once the stage at Act IV, is a real
size racing car on display . . .
These cars are changed from time
to time . . . The entire motif is in
keeping with the auto racing
theme, and a most interesting one
. The employes are dressed in
racing garb ... parking attendants
in crash helmets . . . busboys in
white mechanic outfits . . and the
waitresses are called Supercharg-
ers . . . Personable Ray Taylor is
a steward (host) and Gary is chief
steward . .. Drinks are called by
their own names, but food from
Starting Grid (appetizers) to Race
Entrees to Final Lap (dessert) is
all by names of sports cars . .1
The Steering Wheel is indeed un-
usually different.
THIS TIME ITS DEFINITE .. .
name of the new restaurant open-
ing later part of September on 10
Mile & Southfield, will be called
The Rascal House . . . Owners are
Jack Myers, Al Hacker and Bernie
Glieberman . . . So rule out the
name Onion Roll . . its Rascal
House for sure!
