Montreal Board to Contri bute to Jewish Schools

MONTREAL (JTA)—The Protes-
tant School Board of Greater Mon-
treal has agreed to pay $500 per
child for the secular educational
program of five Jewish high
schools. The Protestant School
Board is responsible for 'secular
public education in Montreal.
The five schools previously re-
ceived $350 per child directly from
the Quebec government, but a re-
cent provincial bill provided pri-
vate schools "associate status" ,
with the Protestant-or Catholic au-
thorities. As "associates" - the Jew-
