Seminary to Cite WWJ for Airing
of 'Eternal Light' in Past 25 Years

The "Eternal Light," the re-
sult of this invitation, has been
jointly presented by the semin-
ary and NBC ever since. In 1951,
the Eternal Light was extended
to NBC television, on which it
presents 10 programs annually.
Religious in theme, Eternal
Light dramatizes universal va-
lues as expressed in the Jewish
tradition.

The Eternal Light draws its pro-
grams from a variety of sources:
the Hebrew Bible, contemporary
life and the dramatic examples of
men and women whose lives have
enriched mankind.
Since its first Sunday broadcast,
"Eternal Light" has produced
some 800 radio and TV dramatiza-
tions, covering subjects as varied
as the spiritualism of Ghandi, the
battle of the Warsaw Ghetto and
the career of Ezra Stiles, who be-
came president of Yale University
in 1777. It has received 61 awards
and honorable mentions, including
the Citation for Excellence of the
Radio and Television Critics Circle
of New York, the Freedom Foun-
dation Award, the George Foster
Peabody Radio Award and the
Brotherhood Week Award of the
National Conference of Christians
and Jews.
