Hamburger are Israel Bond women's division leaders. Miss Peters
was honored for her devotion and her services to the Jewish people
and to the State of Israel. The presentation took place in the star's
dressing room at the Masonic Temple. Miss Peters was in Israel in
May, 1967. When the outbreak of war seemed imminent, the Amer-
ican Consulate wanted to evacuate her. But she decided to remain
and to entertain Israeli soldiers during the Six-Day War.
