ew, Urban Crisis' Discussed in Flint

The Flint Jewish Community Council's recent "Jew and the Urban
Crisis" program drew the participation of many authorities in the

man of the day camp committee.

The camp is open to children
age 4-12, and this year a new pro-
gram for 13-15 year olds will be
instituted in the form of a coun-
selors-in-training program. There
will be increased emphasis on Jew-
ish programing and content, and
activities will include swimming
instruction, arts and crafts, sports,
music and dramatics, nature study,
horseback riding, hay rides and
special field trips. Bus transporta-
tion will be provided.
Returning as camp director will
be teacher Charles Coggins, who
has taught nine years in the Flint
area. He will be assisted by a staff
of counselors, including a certified
water safety instructor. A small

Janice Lee Wexler and Gary
Lloyd Fried were united in mar-
riage in an evening ceremony last
weekend at Temple Beth El, with
Rabbi William A. Greenebaum II
officiating.
The couple's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Max Wexler of Blanchard
Ave., Flint, and Mr. and Mrs.
Maurice Fried of Indianwood Tr.,
Birmingham.
• The bride wore a silk organza
A-line sheath, with Alencon lace
appliques on the skirt and a high-
neckline bodice of matching lace:
The elbow sleeves were accented
with deep scalloped ruches, and a
small bow in back formed soft
folds falling to a floor-length train.
Scalloped Alencon lace bordered
the chapel-length mantilla held by
a silk organza ring. Tiers of silk
illusion cascaded over the mantilla.
The bride carried a Victorian nose-
gay of roses and Stephanotis
caught with French knot ribbon
streamers.
, Bethany Wexler, the bride's

sister, was maid of honor. Brides-
maids were the bridegroom's sis-
ter, Caryn Fried, Linda Gutter-
man, Judith Gutow and Mrs.
Carl Rittman. Flower girl was
Cindy Klein.
Marvin Fried was best man to
his brother. Ushers were Stephen

Wexler, the bride's brother, Paul
Fisher ,of Ann Arbor, Howard
Franklin of Detroit, Kaywin Good-
man of St. Louis, Robert Schmier
of Detroit, Norman Pappas of
Cleveland and Charles Averbook
of Austin, Minn.
After a Bermuda honeymoon, the

couple will live in Royal Oak.

ciation, outgoing president Dr. Har-
vey Ring was named to the board
