Halpern for his 20 years as spiritual leader of the congregation. It was announced by Sam Kau- fer, president, that Max Sosin, local Jewish humorist, will be a special guest speaker at the event, on behalf of Israel Bonds. Circuit Court Judge Nathan J. Kaufman will be toastmaster. Din- ner co-chairmen are Kaufer and William A. Genser. Henry Thumin, spent his entire adult life in work- ing for the creation of a Jewish homeland. He lived in Palestine from 1929 to 1939 and has frequent- ly revisited Israel since. Samuel was born in Romania in 1895, educated in England and came to the United States in 1914.
