Volunteer Corps Open
to Center Members;
Stratford Trip Mapped

The group services division of
the Jewish Center is accepting ap-
plications for the 1969 Summer
Teen Volunteer Corps.
Center members (special sum-
mer memberships acceptable) who
are entering at least the 10th
grade, will have the opportunity
to acquire new skills in working
with children and meeting new
people.
The hours and days of placement
are flexible and can be adjusted
to meet school and personal com-
mitments.

Bliley Day School's ninth grade graduating class visits the office

of Congressman William S. Broomfield. With him are (from left)

Arm, Devorah Eizikovic and Rebecca Dann. Seated are Mrs. Robert
Ellis and Mrs. Sol Dann. A visit to the U.S. Capitol and informal
meetings with key figures in the Senate highlighted the class trip to
Washington. The 10 teen-agers spent five days there, accompanied by
Mrs. Ellis, social studies teacher, and Mrs. Dann. Congressman
Broomfield arranged for the students to attend a House subcom-
mittee hearing on radio communication via space satellites. Other
government leaders whom the group met included Senators Edmund
Muskie, George McGovern, Charles Percy, Robert Griffin and Philip
Hart. The group toured famous Washington sites.

MARTY LEVINSON, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Levinson of Birch
Ridge Rd., Southfield, was honored
by the Detroit Association of Phi
Beta Kappa at a special convoca-
tion admitting the top 2 per cent
of the Detroit area high school
graduates to membership. Marty,
who is graduating from Southfield
High School, will spend the sum-
mer on a kibutz in Israel and upon
his return will enter Wayne State
University. He is a graduate of the
Hebrew High School.

the program at the Israel dinner-
dance of Shaarit Haplayta, 6:30
p.m. June 15. in Temple Emanu-
El's social hall, it was announced
by Martin Rose, president. The oc-
casion, on behalf of Israel Bonds,
will mark Israel's anniversary.
Fred Ferber is chairman of din-
ner-dance committee. Associate
chairmen are Arnold Einhorn,
Leon Halpern, Dr. John J. blames,
Steve Oliwek and. Mrs. Leon Po-
powski. Abe Weberman is ticket
