killed in Vietnam combat May 14
He was 21.
Lt. Weil and his wife Linda
were married last November while
he was home on leave. He had en-
listed in February 1967.

A graduate of Bloomfield Hilis
High School in 1965, Lt. Well at-
tended Michigan State University
for two years before enlisting. He
was an infantry rifle platoon lead-
er at the time of his death.
Surviving besides his wife and
parents is a brother, Ronald, of
Berkeley, Calif.

Ferndale, died Sunday at age 86
Mrs. Silber, a member of Work-
men's Circle Branch 156, resided
at 13821 Kenwood, Oak Park. She
was born in Russia and resided in
the Detroit area 50 years.
Surviving are two sons, Fred
and William; two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.

was a native Detroiter. He was a
member of Temple Israel and the
Jewish War Veterans, as well as

son, Marc Alan; a daughter, Lin-
da; and two sisters, Ruth and Mrs.
Jack (Jeanna) Tauber.

Mrs. Winston, 8801 Kingswood,
belonged to Temple Beth El, Wom-
en's American ORT, American
Jewish Congress, National Council
of Jewish Women and Hadassah.
Born in Alanson, Mich., she was
a resident of Detroit for 47 years.
Mrs. Winston leaves her hus-
band, Maurice; two daughters,
Mrs. Harry (Lois) Waits and Mrs.
William (Bonnie) Shapiro of
Shawnee Mission, Kan.; three
brothers, Arthur Klein of Los An-
geles, Adolph Klein and Sidney
Klein of Grand Rapids; and four
grandchildren.

Harry Paul, 12928 Lincoln, Hun.
tington Woods, died last Friday at
age 54. A land developer, Mr.
Paul was a member of Oakwood
Lodge of Bnai Brith, Cong. Beth
Shalom, Mosaic Lodge of the Ma-
sons and Detroit Consistory, Mos-
lem Temple. He was a native of
Toronto.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie;
a son, Alan of Mountain View,
Calif.; a daughter, Sherry; four
brothers, Lewis Lawson and Mor-
ris Lawson, Jack and Fred of
San Mateo; and two sisters, Mrs.
Sam (Eva) Pinkis and Mrs. Sey-
mour (Lillian) Cohn.

Louis Tolle, Founder
of Cleaning Business

Louis Tolle, founder and owner
of Tolle Cleaners, 13921 W. Seven
Mile, died May 20. He was 68.
Mr. Tolle, 19341 Marlowe, was
in the dry cleaning busineSs here
for the past 45 years, and he was
a member of the Dry Cleaning and
Laundry Institute. Born in Russia,
Mr. Tolle lived in Detroit for the
past 60 years.
Survivors are his wife, Faye; a
son, Jerry; a brother, Max; and
two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Nyman
and Mrs. David (Ethel) Hartsman,
both of Toronto.

OBITUARIES

Youra Shumaker, an organizer of
the Hebrew Free Loan Associa-
tion, died May 15 at age 77.
Mrs. Shumaker, a member of
Pioneer Women and Workmen's
Circle Branch 111. was a native of
Poland and lived in the Detroit
area 49 years. She lived at 21654
Stratford Ct., Oak Park.
Survivors are a son, Isadore; a
daughter. Mrs. Nathan (Ruth) Ole-
shansky; two brothers, Ben, of
Chicago and Max Rubenstein of
Amherstberg, Ont.; a sister. Mrs.
Yetta Drachler; seven grandchil-
dren and one great-grandchild.
