THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS
Friday, May 16, 1969-9
.... ....................................... .
We can't afford a bigger one.
We've been having some
pretty good years.
We've grown from little to
almost-big.
And we've reached the
danger point.
The danger point for a
retailer is when he starts thinking
he got successful all by himself.
The head begins to swell.
It happens all the time to
men's clothing stores, hardware
stores, department stores, and
egg ladies who suddenly believe
they're more importantthan their
customers.
It's very dangerous.
Very costly.
.
It can drive customers
away faster than you can say
"No sale."
It could happen to
Osmun's.
But we tried to build in a
safeguard against it.
We told ourselves, 30-
some years ago when we started,
thatthere's more to being a men's
store than hanging up a rack of
40-regulars.
We told ourselves that a
store needs customers more than
customers need that particular
store.
There are lots of places
to buy 40-regulars.
What's going to bring you
to Osmun's is Osmun's thinking
that you're the most important
person we know.
And, actually, that's easy.
Because you are.
we know there are other
men's stores in town
Three of our stores are open evenings 'til 9: Tel-Twelve Mall (Telegraph and 12 Mile in South-
field), Tech-Plaza Center (12 Mile and Van Dyke in Warren), and Tel Huron Center (Telegraph
and Huron in Pontiac). Our downtown Pontiac store is open Friday
evenings 'til 9. Look around. Bring your Osmun's or Security
Chargecard, Michigan or Midwest Bankard, or money, if you like.
