Mrs. Orbach Elected
by Local Interfaith
Broadcasting Group

Evelyn Orbach, wife of Cantor
Harold Orbach of Temple Israel,
has been elected vice chairman of
the Interfaith Broadcasting Com-
mission of Greater Detroit.
Mrs. Orbach represents the Jew-
ish Community Council on the
commission, on which Dr. Richard
C. Hertz of Temple Beth El and
Mrs. Lewis Grossman also serve.
Elected chairman of the com-
mission was William J. Coughlin,
representing the Roman Catholic
Archdiocese. The Rev. Father
Demetrios Kavadas, Council of
Eastern Orthodox Churches, was
elected secretary; and the Rev.
Edward Willingham, Metropolitan
Detroit Council of Churches, trea-
surer.
Objectives of the commission
include seeking a united religious
and moral impact on the commun-
ity through radio and television.
Besides offering various services
to broadcasters, including "non-
commercial commercials" which
promote moral values, the com-
mission is a contributor to locally-
originated broadcasts.
