Pupils to Study Holocaust in Miami Jewish Schools
MIAMI (JTA) — The Bureau of
Jewish Education has announced
that the Nazi Holocaust will be the
subject of two sessions in all Jew-
ish schools in Miami from grade
five upward. Albert Ossip, bureau
president, said that the bureau had
published a bulletin for teachers
on the Holocaust for use in the
courses.

munity of Greater Detroit, which resulted in Israel Bond subscrip-

Baum was elected president of the
National Conciliation Court Service
last weekend in Beverly Hills,
Calif.
Judge Baum, who has had many
articles published nationally and
internationally in the area of court
counseling, was author of the cur-
rent state act establishing court
counseling services in Michigan.
Another Detroiter, Edward Stan-
iec, was elected secretary.
Judge Samuel King of Hawaii
was elected vice president and
Judge Melvin Cohen of Redwood
City, Calif., treasurer.
Because of Judge Baum's elec-
tion to the presidency, the national
conference of the service will be
held in Detroit next year.

$25 Million Hospital Drive
NEW YORK (JTA)—The 15-year-
old Long Island Jewish Hospital in
Queens will become the Long Is-
land Jewish Medical Center and
will undertake a campaign to raise
$25,000,000 to effect the expansion.
Gustave M. Berne, president of
the hospital, said that as a medical
center it would "provide new con-
cepts of highly sophisticated facili
ties and services for patient care,
teaching, research and community
health."
