The Flint Jewish Community
Council's board of governors meet-
ing will be held May 20 at Temple
Beth El. The fourth Thursday in
May this year falls on Shavuot eve.

Louis Smith, executive director of '
the Jewish Community of Greater
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Smith has been
in the social service field for 45
years. as director of both the cen-
ter and federation. Ile has been
particularly effective in involving
parents and their teen-agers in
Jewish communal projects, and in
1967. the community of Wilkes-
Barre was awarded the William J.
Shroder Award for stimulating an
intensified appreciation of Jewish
values, especially on the part of
teen-agers.
Smith will share with the Young
Leadership Group the ideas and
methods of involvement that have
proven successful.

by Carol S. Edelberg and Mervin
Goldstein.
Miss Edelberg. a graduate of
Michigan State University. is the
daughter of Mrs. Nat Edelberg and
the late Mr. Edelberg. Her fiance.
son of the William Goldsteins of
Southfield, is a graduate of the
University of Michigan. He re-
ceived his master's degree from
Wayne State University and is a
student in Wayne's medical school.
