WHILE AT Klett Cadillac on 7
and Grand River recently, Lydia
and Ralph Schwartz had a most un-
usual if not eerie experience . . .
They were looking at a car in the
showroom and turned away to talk
to a friend who had come in for
the same purpose .. . Lydia then
motioned to show the car they liked
and it was gone! . . . Tom Dreis-
back, owner with founder Arnold
Klett, saw the surprised look on
her face and immediately came
over reassuringly to the rescue
. . . He explained that the circular
floor turns around on a turntable,
the only one of its kind in the
country, and "her car" was on the
other side of the room . .. Speak-
ing of the 52 feet in diameter turn-
table. it was Tom's brainchild back
in 1966 and cost $36,000 . . . but
Ralph Schwartz says you couldn't
buy the look on Lydia's face for all
the money in the world when she
saw a different car in place of the
one they had picked out

WHEN 15 SHRINERS FROM the
Northwest area got together in 1954
to form the Crescent Shrine Club,
after hardground work by Max
Haidy, Russel Nida, Meyer Bern-
stein and Al Perlmutter, nobody
realized that today its membership
would be over 800 . . . and every
Crescent fez wearer will be out in
full bloom to celebrate what should
be a gala 15th anniversary, May
26. at Raleigh House, where the
fellows meet each month for cock-
tails, dinner and social fun.
