The half-way mark in payments
towards their $100,000 gift to
Wayne State University was in-
dicated last week with another
$10,000 payment by Mr. and Mrs.
Sigmund Rohlik.
The payment was made to Ed-
ward L. Cushman, vice-president
of WSU.
The Sigmund and Sophie Rohlik
Scholarship Fund provides finan-
cial assistance to incoming fresh-
men.
Rabbi Manfred Pick, principal of Akiva Hebrew Day School. is
attending the 14th annual convention of the National Conference of Yes-
hiva Principals, through May 4 at the Pioneer Country Club, Green-
field Park, N.Y.
Elaine Leemon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philmore A. Leemon of
Huntington Woods, has received recognition as the outstanding woman
student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She was recipient of
the annual award and grant given by the Association of MIT Alumnae.
Jay Bodzin of Parklawn Ave, Oak Park. recently was honored on
his 60th birthday with a dinner party at the home of his daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kowalsky of Westhampton Ave., Oak
Park. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bodzin and Lianna
of Madison, Wis.
