OBITUARIES

ESTHER GOLD, 13341 W. Nine
Mile, Oak Park, died April 18. Sur-
vived by a son, Paul of Beachwood,
0; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert
(Betty) Klein and Mrs. Irvine
(Frances) Grand; six grandchil-
dren and two great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Aaron Kinitzer,
Talmud Scholar, 94

Rabbi Aaron L. Kinitzer, an
Orthodox Jewish scholar who
taught at several area synagogues,
including Cong. Beth Tefilo Eman-
uel, died April 19 at age 94.
Rabbi Kinitzer, who resided at
the Jewish Home for Aged, was
recognized as an authority on the
Talmud.
He leaves four sons, Hy, Abra-
ham of San Francisco, Ben and
Walace Kinzer; five daughters,
Mrs. Bess Gonte, Mrs. Martin
(Lillian) Weinstein, Mrs. Robert
(Mary) Einzig of San Carlos,
Calif., Mrs. Leo (Helen) Apple-
baum and Rose; 20 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.

Celia Brady, 71

Celia Brady, a member of sev-
eral communal organizations, died
Monday at age 71. She resided at
17595 Whitcomb.
Mrs. Brady, born in Romania,
lived in Detroit 39 years. She be-
longed to Fannie Gluck Chapter of
Mizrachi Women, Beth Abraham
Sisterhood, Ladies of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, Bereznitzer and
Odessa aid societies and the for-
mer Beth Isaac Synagogue. She
also was a life member of the Jew-
ish National Fund Women's Aux-
iliary.
Surviving are her husband, Sam;
two sons, Edward and Morris, both
of Phoenix; two daughters, Mrs.
Leonard (Florence) Furman and
Edith; nine grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.

Young Polish Historian
Memorialized in Israel

JERUSALEM—A memorial
meeting for the late Bella Man-
delsberg-Shildkraut of Lublin, Po-
land, who died in Maidanek con-
centration camp in 1943, was held
at the Hebrew University on Mar-
tyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance
Day, April 15.
The ceremony was sponsored
jointly by the university's acad-
emic secretariat and an associa-
tion of former Lublin residents
who have established a scholar-
ship fund in memory of the young
Polish historian.

ANNA GOTTLIEB, former De-
troiter, of Whitefish Bay, Wis.,
died April 18. She leaves a son,
Symond; and two grandchildren.
Interment Detroit.

WILLIAM HALPER, 13725 Dex-
ter, died April 17. Survived by his
wife, Clara; a son, Mack; a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Harry (Ida) Smith of
Miami Beach; two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.

ford, died April 23 in Miami Beach.
She leaves her husband, Joshua;
a daughter, Mrs. David (Norma)
Sklar; four brothers, two sisters
and three grandchildren.

Schaefer, died April 18. Survived
by his wife, Sarah; four sons, Ir-
ving, William, Martin and Norman;
three daughters, Mrs. Sol (Ger-
trude) Hoberman, 4 Mrs. Hyman
(Betty) Kelman and Mrs. Boris
(Ethel) Farkas; one brother, 14
grandchildren and six great-grand-
children.
