School of Pharmacy of the Hebrew

Mrs. Willard Zamsky of Curtis Ave. recently returned from two
weeks in Savannah. Ga.. where she visited her sister and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Mintz and Sharon, former Detroiters.
Mrs. Selma R. Hallman of Burt Rd. has just returned from a 10-
day Passover vacation with her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.
Leon M. Meyers of Frackville. Pa. While she was there, Jeffrey, 10,
son of Dr. and Mrs. Meyers competed in the district spelling bee
against students from higher grades. He was a runner-up. His sister
Judi. who attends Penn State College, is one of three queens chosen
from her sorority.
The 28th biennial national convention of the National ,Council of
Jewish Women will take place Sunday through April 25 at the Pick
Congress Hotel in Chicago. Women from the Detroit area who will rep-
resent the Detroit Section are Mesdames M. Morton Barak, Sol Gross-
man. Harold Kaufman. Joseph Klein, Frederick Shevin, Victor Shiff-
man. Arthur Stone. Ben Weintraub, Max Blumberg, John Frazer,
Stephen Rose. Saul Rosenbloom, Alvin Rodecker and Murray Sachs.

University in Jerusalem, received
a grant of 25,000 Israeli pounds
($7,250) from the Henrietta Szold
Fund and the ministry of com-
merce and industry for the devel-
opment of a new method of pre-
paring drugs in sustained-release
formulations.

In a ceremony performed last
Sunday evening. Nancy Carol Zu-
kin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Zukin of Lauder Ave., be-
came the wife of Capt. Gerald
Martin Reed.
The bridegroom is the son of
, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin H. Reed of
I Philadelphia. Rabbi Irwin Groner
officiated at the marriage.
The bride wore a gown fashioned
of silk organza and lace with veil
of silk organdy and French illu-
sion. She carried a bouquet of
roses.
Lori Beth Zukin was maid of

honor. Serving as bridesmaids
were C. Jane Shetzer, Phyllis
Salter, Darlene Uten and Mickey
Levine. Shari Reed of Philadel-
phia Was flower girl.

Richard Reed of Philadelphia
was best man. Stanley Zukin: Capt.

After a two-week honeymoon to
Trinidad, Caracas and Curacao,
the couple will reside at Ft.

Center Theater to Do
Satire 'Right You Are'

casting for its May production of
Pirandello's satiricial "Right You
Are."

Art Auctions to Raise. ORT Funds

Two art auctions, from which it
is hoped many needy students will
benefit, are to be held by Suburban
ORT
Hills Women's American
(Organization for Rehabilitation
through Training ■. at the Birming-
ham Community House 2 and 8
p.m. April 27.
Bidding w ill follow a preview
and refreshments one hour each
session. The auctions will
w be con-
ducted by How ard Mann of the Art
Center. Lambertville. N.J. Mann.
known throughout the eastern
United States for fund-raising art
auctions. is also head of one of the
nation's pre-eminent art organiza-
tions. He is engaged in underwrit-
ing and publishing original editions
of world-famous artists and is the
owner of art galleries as well as
the moving force behind Howard
Mann Art Auctions.
Original oils. water colors,
etchings and lithographs will be
included in the auction.
Mrs. Morris Wexler is chairman
of this event, with Mrs. Peter
Cooper serving as co-chairman.
Mrs. Ted Simon is handling pub-
licity. with the aid of Mrs. Calvin
Kuttnauer, Mrs. Ted Jacobson,
Mrs. Herbert Oppenheim. Mrs. Ed-
ward Stone and Mrs. Earl Gillman.
Invitations and posters have been
designed by Mrs. Alvin Covent.
Hostess chairman is Mrs. Joseph
Rose. and her co-chairman is Mrs.
Sherman Becker.
They will be assisted by:
