Yugoslavia has been assured by
an official of Yugoslav's ruling
Socialist Alliance that a Yugoslav
representative who denounced Is-
rael at a meeting in Cairo had
not been authorized to make any
such statement, according to in-
formation received here.
The development was reported
in the current issue of the Jewish
Review, the official publication of
the federation, a copy of which
arrived here. The Yugoslav offi-
cial, described as "high-ranking,"
told the Cairo meeting that the
"Moslems of Yugoslavia were ab-
solutely ready to join in a holy
war against Israel, the tribe
cursed by Heaven."
The secretary-general of the.
Socialist Alliance told the federa-
tion that the representative had
no authority to make such a state-
ment on behalf of Yugoslav Mos-
lems. He also said he would ar-
range to have his explanation pub-
lished in the Yugoslav press.

In Time of Emergency
If Warning Sounds,
Here's What to Do
Warning of an enemy attack on the United States
probably would be preceded by a period of interna-
tional tension or crisis which would help alert all citi-
zens to the possibility of attack. The actual attack
warning, however, would be given to the public by out-
door warning devices, supplemented by radio or tele-
vision.
If an attack actually occurs, it is almost certain that
incoming enemy planes and missiles would be detected
by our networks of warning stations in time for people
to get into shelters or at least take cover. This warning
time might be as little as 5-15 minutes in some loca-
tions, and as much as an hour or more in others.
Outdoor Warning Systems
Many U.S. cities and towns
have outdoor warning systems,
using sirens, whistles, horns or
bells. Although they have been
installed mainly to warn citi-
zens of enemy attack, some
local governments also use
them in connection with natu-
ral disasters and other peace-
time catastrophes.

SIGNAL will be sounded only

If There Is a Nuclear Flash ...
It is possible but unlikely
that the first warning of an
enemy attack would be the
flash of a nuclear explosion in
the sky some distance away. Or
there might be a flash after
warning had been given, pos-
sibly while people were going
to shelter.
