Woodward, Royal Mak, Just S. of 13 Mile Rd. 549-2900 T.HE PERSONAL RECOMMEN- DATION of Senator Philip Hart was a big one . . . with Judge Marvin Frankel of Oak Park being admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court .. • capping 11 years as an attorney with experience equaled by few barristers . . . Not being a politi- cian, this business of running to retain his post as municipal judge is a strange one for Marvin . . . he'd rather tackle a hard-running opposing player as in the days of being a Detroit Lions football star than throw blocks in politics .. - The law is Marvin's busineis . . . Being a municipal judge is his de- dication to right and wrong . . . such as initiating a volunteer pro- bation dept. of the Oak Park Muni- cipal Court . . . establishing the first Small Claims Court in Oak Park as well as the first night court . . . Mary is the unanimous choice of Mayor Joe Forbes and all the common council members in Oak Park—Dave Shepherd, Sid Shayne, Bernie Cronk and Bert Colburn ... which is probably the very highest recommendation a per- son can get in the support of a candidacy . . . When the entire municipal leadership in Oak Park wants Judge Marvin Frankel re- tained, there must be a reason why. • • • SIX-YEAR-OLD Murray Sotkin has always been afraid of dogs ... and one day last week, after a struggle to get him to pass a large dog standing on the corner, his mother, Alice Sotkin, scolded him for his unnecessary fear . . . "Well," said Murray. "you'd be afraid of dogs, too, if you were as low down as I am." • • • CALLING SONNY ELIOT . . . Remember when back in 1948 as Sonny Schlossberg, your comical talents were cast on the television screen as co-star with golf pro Joe Deveny . . , The show was filled with tips for golfing fans ... plus your hilarious antics that made for much giggling on the part of the video audience ... That same year, still as Sonny Schlossberg, you wound up 12 weeks as Willie Dooit on the WWJ-TV children's program, "Let's See Willie Dooit" . . . Today, as ace weatherman Sonny Eliot . . . still on WWJ-TV . . . you are one of the very few persons who have survived televi- sion as a preformer since its be- ginning in Detroit. • • • GOOD WORK DONE by Knights of Pythias includes a project for unfortunate youngsters which folks should definitely know about . . . The K of P guys are saving the lives of many stricken with the dreaded disease, Cystic Fibrosis. • • • WELL, WE'RE a great uncle again . . Neice Diane (Rosen) and nephew Norman Gussin are parents of seven pounder Darin Lee . . . born at Sinai a couple of weeks ago as a brother for two- year-old-Bryan. 'Le Monde' Hit for Article PARIS (JTA)—A committee of French Jewish Organizations has protested to the newspaper Le Monde the publication of what it considered an anti-Semitic article last week and has asked the paper to give equal space to its reply.
