McGraw-Hill Issues New Israel Atlas

"The New Israel Atlas" contains
not only historical and campaign
maps, but also maps showing
flora, fauna, natural resources,
geology, Jewish, Christian, Moslem
and other holy places, and sites of
archaeological excavations. A ga-
zetteer of towns and villages is also
included.

"The New Israel Atlas: Bible to
the Present Day," a unique guide
and history written by Zev Vilnay
and published today by McGraw-
Hill, charts every aspect of Israel's
illustrious past — historical, religi-
ous, geographic, and geo-political-
from the earliest times when it
was regarded as the cradle of
.human civilization, to the situation
after the Six-Day War.
Dr. Vilnay, lecturer and author,
launches his comprehensik narra-
tive by setting the land of Israel in
its geographic and historical per-
spective. Through detailed maps
and photographs he shows the
places where the ideas were born
that have affected the course of
mankind through the ages.
"The New Israel Atlas" is divid-
ed into four parts: Modern Israel,
The Struggle for Independence,
Roots in the Past, and Proposals
for a Jewish State.
In "Modern Israel" the author
discusses such topics as indus-
try and development; the kibutz
and its history — Israel's unique
system of combined agricultural
and military training; the im-
mense growth in the population
of Israel since 1948, with a statis-
tical breakdown of the population
according to the culture and
religion of its members.

the truth blows right on over it,
nevertheless, and at length blows
it down. —Henry David Thoreau.

You may not race or rally or even own a sports car, but whatever and
however you drive, you can do it better on the same kind of DUNLOP
quality that has led the way in so many important automotive competi-

You can expect this from the world-wide company that invented the Pneu-
