Young Jews in Project
to Educate Retarded

MILWAUKEE (JTA)—Six young
men and six young women are tak-
ing part in a Jewish-sponsored
three-year experimental project to
educate retarded adults to live on
their own, which the sponsors be-
lieve to be the only program of its
kind in the United States.
Council House, which was or-
ganized by the Milwaukee section
of the-National Council of Jewish
Women, is comprised of two pri-
vate lromes rented by the section,
in which the retarded adults live.
The project was started last April
as the latest in a series of services
for the retarded which have won
the NCJW national honors.
